The Battambang tuk-tuk tour supporting children’s education

AKD (Association for Knowledge Development) is an English language school providing underprivileged Cambodians with greater opportunities in life.

In Cambodia, students who don’t speak English cannot progress through to higher education or enjoy higher paying jobs. Despite this, government schools teach very little English and many teachers charge a high price for extra hours of learning. Most families cannot afford these prices and therefore the child’s education suffers. Since 2005, the AKD School has been providing free English classes to Cambodian children of all ages, so that they can look forward to a brighter future. Based in the Cambodian city of Battambang, the school now has more than 200 students, eight local teachers and hosts a range of volunteers from around the world.
